The primary mission of the Office of Governmental Relations is to conduct a highly effective government relations effort to support and strengthen our operational and capital funding on the state and federal levels to ensure that the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM) is able to successfully accomplish its mission of medical education, research and service.

Accordingly, the Office of Governmental Relations makes recommendations to and advises the president and dean of NEOUCOM regarding the advancement and support of relations with these governmental units.

The Office of Governmental Relations reports directly to the president and dean, and works closely with the senior vice president for academic affairs and executive associate dean, vice president for administration and finance, institutional advancement and other appropriate individuals to monitor and evaluate governmental issues of importance to NEOUCOM.  Key goals of this office include establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with local, state and federal government, Office of Budget and Management, Ohio Board of Regents and other appropriate agencies.
