The Office of Admissions and Student Services utilizes a holistic review process when considering admissions applications. Both academic and personal characteristics are reviewed, assessing unique characteristics which will enrich the student body and assessing qualities which will demonstrate applicants potential to succeed at Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy. The Institution seeks to admit a diverse student body that will create a stimulating learning environment in a way that the students contributions will enhance the classroom and the profession by creating cultural awareness regarding diversity characteristics. A primary goal of admitting a diverse student body is to prepare NEOUCOM graduates to work in a diverse patient population. The program is designed for ninth through eleventh graders who have typically been underrepresented in medicine and pharmacy, including African American or Black, American Indian or Alaska Native, Hispanic/Latino, and Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander; however, welcomes students of all races and ethnicities. Participants receive exposure to the fields of medicine and pharmacy through fun and educational activities. Students get the opportunity to interact with current medical and pharmacy students, physicians, and pharmacists.
