Dr. Susan Bruce is Chair and Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Pharmacy. She is a registered pharmacist and a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. Dr. Bruce completed a residency in Primary Care with a Focus in Education at Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy (MWU CCP) before joining the faculty at MWU CCP. Her patient care responsibilities included a point-of-care interdisciplinary Lipid Clinic serving over 300 patients and a Pharmacotherapy Clinic at Suburban Heights Medical Center. In 2001, she transferred to DuPage Medical Group to work collaboratively with physicians to care for patients with diabetes and to participate in point-of-care pharmacist-managed Anticoagulation and Lipid Clinics serving over 400 and 150 patients, respectively. In 2003, she returned to New York to bring her experience from the midwest to Albany College of Pharmacy. Her most recent clinical appointment was with The Center for Rheumatology in Albany, New York. Dr. Bruce worked with the rheumatologists to improve patient care by providing medication-related education to patients and healthcare providers; developed clinical programs to improve patient adherence to treatment regimens; designed medication protocols for the infusion suite; identified and resolved medication-related problems; and met with patients individually to address their medication-related questions. Most recently, Dr. Bruce served as Associate Professor and Acting Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Albany College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Bruce serves as a reviewer for many rheumatology, pharmacy practice and pharmacy education journals. She is an active member of multiple pharmacy organizations including American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). In 2005, Dr. Bruce was profiled on the front page of Pharmacy Today for her work with patients in pharmacist-run outpatient cardiology clinics. In 2006, she was the recipient of the Educator of the Year Award from the New York State Chapter of ACCP.
