This ceremony reaffirms the community's support of the educational process that prepares future health care professionals for practice. On this day, students pledge their commitment to their professions and to the health of the patients they will serve. Contributing to the care and healing of others is a privilege and an awesome responsibility. The White Coat placed on each future health care professional is more than a familiar lab coat - it is a cloak of competence, communication, caring, character and community. This day is celebrated by students, their families, alumni, faculty and staff. 2008 White Coat Ceremonies
2007 CeremoniesOn Aug. 29, 2007, the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy held two ceremonies. Pharmacy students in the inaugural class of 2011 were presented with white coats at 10 a.m. At 2 p.m., medical students received their white coats, continuing a tradition started in 1995. Both ceremonies took place in the Great Hall of the Ralph Regula Conference Center at the Rootstown campus. PhotographyFollow the links below to view pictures from each 2007 ceremony:

White Coat ceremonies celebrate an important milestone in the lives of first-year medical and pharmacy students, who begin a new chapter in their journey of lifelong learning. White coats are symbolic of the professionalism that is expected of students during medical and pharmacy school, and as physicians and pharmacists.
