Disparities and Women’s Health – What You Should Know in 2008

ROOTSTOWN, Ohio – Obstetricians, gynecologists, family medicine doctors and other medical professionals in the disciplines of women’s health, obstetrics or gynecology will want to attend Gender Disparities and Women’s Health – What You Should Know in 2008 on Friday, Sept. 19. This continuing education conference will be held in the Ralph Regula Conference and Event Center on the Rootstown campus of the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy (NEOUCOM), at 4209 State Route 44.

This conference considers that health and illness are sex- and gender-specific in causation, response and systems; and the historical focus on sex- and gender-“neutral” research and care contributed to disparities, especially in women.

This very informative conference will address conditions that are more common or present differently in women. Topics include:

  • Women and Heart Disease: Does Gender Matter?
  • Practical Insights for Treating Women with Disabilities
  • Peripartum Psychological Disorders
  • Women and Eroticism
  • Discussing Sexuality with Your Patients

For conference details and registration information, call 877-325-1212 (toll free) or go to www.neoucom.edu/ce. This event is presented by NEOUCOM, the Obstetrics/Gynecology Council and the Office of Continuing Professional Development.
